Applying your child to NYC Middle or High School for 2027?

Join Alina Adams, author of “Getting Into NYC High School” on Wednesday, October 14, the day public middle school applications open, at 6 PM for an hour long workshop to discuss all of your options – and how to get them. (Public high school applications open on October 6.)

Public middle schools are zoned – except when they aren’t. Middle schools no longer look at a student’s grades or test scores – except when they do.

Public high schools include Specialized, Screened, Arts, Ed-Opt, Unscreened, and more. Which school goes on which application? How do you rank to maximize your odds of getting your first choice? What role do lottery numbers play?

How do Hunter High School and charter schools fit in?

What is the process for applying to private schools? Is there financial aid available?

We will cover all of these questions and more. To make sure that everyone gets a chance to speak, space is extremely limited.
